A key feature of the PPN conference are participatory workshops.  Those who register for the conference are assured their first choice of workshops offered during the conference on Friday and Saturday morning. A draft of the full conference program can be downloaded as a pdf or found here online (note that the pdf is not as up-to-date as the on-line version; the final print program will be available soon.

PLEASE NOTE:  THE EARLY REGISTRATION FEE HAS PASSED; CURRENT REGISTRATION COSTS ARE $186 FOR ALL--breakfast, breaks, and lunches are included.

Early Registration fees (deadline has passed): 

• Graduate Students, Adjuncts, Retired, and Underemployed ($50)

• Junior Faculty and Early Career People ($100)
• Senior Faculty and Professionals ($125)
Please note that these fees include breakfasts, lunches, and breaks, as well as workshops, plenary sessions, and panels.    We thank our institutional members (Emory University, Penn State's Rock Ethics Institute, Michigan State, George Mason University, and the American Philosophical Association for their financial support that makes it possible to subsidize registration fees for registrants.

Conference location:  All events will take place at the Emory Conference Center Hotel.  Directions to the Conference Center can be found here.  Transportation to and from the airport: Take the MARTA train north from the airport to Lindbergh Station, and then take the 6 bus to the conference center: http://goo.gl/maps/Jp6Ak  Use this information to plan your trip back to the airport.

Conference hotel reservations.   Book your room now for the Advancing Public Philosophy conference to be held at Emory University in Atlanta March 14-16, 2013. To reserve a guest room at the Emory Conference Center Hotel. Contact reservations directly at (404) 712-6565 or 1-800-933-6679 and ask for the group block for Public Philosophy Network. The conference rate is $129 per night.  As of February 14, 2013,  all rooms at the Emory Conference Center have been booked.  But some rooms may become available, so you can contact the hotel via the phone numbers or their website and ask for the group block for Public Philosophy Network.   Please see additional hotel information below or use the discussion forum to try to find a room share.

We have reserved a block of rooms with the University Inn at Emory as a back-up hotel for conference attendees who have not yet made reservations.  The University Inn is a family-owned property with modest, but clean and comfortable accommodations that include 2 double-beds, free wireless internet, a microwave and refrigerator, and deluxe continental breakfast.  Two of the rooms are ADA compliant; conference attendees requiring such rooms should make your reservations as soon as possible and request an accessible room when you call.  

Any conference attendees who require a room should contact the University Inn's Guest Services Department at 800.654.8591 or 404.634.7327. Also via email to Info@UnivInn.com with guest name, mailing address, credit card number/expiration date/name on the card and zip code where credit card statement is received. If credit card will not be present at check-in, a Guarantee form must be completed prior to arrival. Guarantee form can be requested at Info@UnivInn.com.  The conference rate is available until FEBRUARY 25th or all 18 doubles and 2 ADA rooms are booked.

NOTE:  The University Inn is approximately a 1 mile walk from the conference hotel.  It is also possible on to take the complimentary Emory University cliff shuttle buses to the Conference Center, although it will require a free bus transfer.  Alternatively, PPN members could pool resources to take a cab between the two sites.

Conference chair Noëlle McAfee has reserved some rooms there, so contact her at nmcafee at emory dot edu by March 1 if you'd like one of those rooms.

When placing the room reservation at the Conference Center online or over the phone, conference participants have two choices of ADA compliant rooms: one with a king bed, and one with two double beds.  Here is the way the rooms are described:

ADA Compliant Room with 1 pillow-top king bed. Includes Grab Rails in bathtub. Guestroom includes King Bed, working desk, free wifi internet access and 37 inch LG HDTV. **NOTE** Please detail all ADA requirements in the "comments" section of your reservation. Please ensure valid phone number is provided so we can contact you to confirm the details.

ADA Compliant Room with 2 pillow-top double beds. Includes Grab Rails in bathtub. Guestroom includes King Bed, working desk, free wifi internet access and 37 inch LG HDTV. **NOTE** Please detail all ADA requirements in the "comments" section of your reservation. Please ensure valid phone number is provided so we can contact you to confirm the details.
