My research combines philosophical methods (from the works of Foucault, Bruno Latour, and critical race theory) with field research. For the last four years, I've been intervening in French psychosocial and educational institutions to highlight the racist implications of discourses and practices related to "behavior disorder" prevention. In order to effectively challenge the assumptions in dominant psychosocial theories, I've mobilized actors in the French hip-hop movement who work with the same population of racially stigmatized youth and who offer crucial alternative perspectives for other professionals.
